Advantages of Using a Rentume*

  • Professionalism: A Rentume* demonstrates professionalism and preparedness, showing landlords that you are organized and serious about renting their property.
  • First Impression: It creates a positive first impression by presenting a clear and concise summary of your rental qualifications, making it easier for landlords to assess your suitability.
  • Time-Saving: Landlords often receive numerous rental applications. A Rentume* streamlines the information, making it quicker for them to review your qualifications compared to reading through lengthy applications.
  • Competitive Edge: In competitive rental markets, like Los Angeles, having a Rentume* can give you a competitive edge over other applicants by showcasing your qualifications upfront.
  • Complete Rental History: It provides a detailed rental history, including previous addresses, rental durations, and references, helping landlords evaluate your reliability as a tenant.
  • Financial Stability: Including details about your income, employment, and credit history demonstrates financial stability, which is crucial for landlords assessing your ability to pay rent consistently.
  • References: A Rentume* can include references from previous landlords or colleagues, providing additional credibility to your application.
  • Transparent Communication: It allows you to communicate transparently about any special circumstances or considerations, such as the presence of pets or a co-signer.
  • Customization: You can tailor your Rentume* to highlight specific strengths or address potential concerns, making it a flexible tool for different rental situations.
  • Organization: A well-organized Rentume* makes it easier for landlords to find the information they need quickly, improving the efficiency of the application review process.
  • Transparency: A Rentume* can help ensure that you provide all required information upfront, reducing the likelihood of delays or issues related to incomplete applications.
  • Positive Tenant Profile: It allows you to paint a positive picture of yourself as a tenant, emphasizing qualities that make you a reliable and desirable candidate.
  • Easy Sharing: It provides a convenient document that you can easily share with landlords or property managers in person, via email, or through online rental platforms.

Build a Rentume*

Los Angeles County is an extremely competitive rental market. Presenting a RENTUME*, amid the application process, for a rental home is a great way to stand out in a pool of applicants, but it is not a guarantee you will be approved for the unit. Your housing search will be led and informed by your personal preferences. Your RENTUME* will allow you to better focus your rental inquiries on units that accommodate your preferences and needs, which may include your target move-in date, pets, security needs, and desired amenities.  Your RENTUME* will allow you to quickly and easily provide property managers and landlords your vital information, as soon as you identify a suitable listing. Your RENTUME* will also allow Property managers and landlords to efficiently identify if you are a qualified tenant. Property managers and landlords will still complete the typical rental application process and detailed screening procedures, like running a credit and background check.

NAME & CONTACT INFORMATION

Include a reliable phone number and email address for a property manager or landlord to easily contact you.

OBJECTIVE

Your objective should be a 2-3 sentence statement briefly summarizing your rental preferences, long-term goals, and qualifications to be a good tenant.

Example|

I am looking to relocate from a large apartment complex in Inglewood to a duplex or bungalow in Long Beach, within walking distance to restaurants, markets, & the beach. I’m a young professional looking for a low-maintenance & updated unit, in a quiet & friendly neighborhood. I am a responsible tenant, looking to make this my long-term residence.

BACKGROUND

Your tenant background section allows you to provide more information about yourself and allows a property manager or landlord to get to know a little bit more about you. Include current employment, education, and if you have pets or roommates.  You can also include your hobbies or interests.

Example|

I was born & raised in Watts, CA & have lived in Inglewood for 2 years. I currently work in Hawthorne & I’m a Physical Trainer at Planet Fitness. I love my job & I love being a part of the community’s health journey. When I am not working, I enjoy painting, working out, & hanging out at the beach. I do not have any pets & don’t plan on getting a pet. I am not interested in having roommates. I have never been evicted, arrested, or convicted for any crime. I am a healthy non-smoker & an overall healthy person. I am happy to provide a reference letter from my current & previous property managers & landlords regarding their experience with me as a tenant.

EMPLOYMENT HISTORY

Your employment history section demonstrates that you have adequate income and job security to Property Managers and Landlords. Showing your employment history demonstrates your ability to afford the unit and that you have the responsibility and willingness to make commitments. Include your income details and employer contact information, so that Property Managers and Landlords may verify your employment.
